Fuel Zone

School meals have undergone a massive change in the last few years, out are the traditional school meals and in are exciting new options.

The Fuel Zone is an innovative concept in all Glasgow Secondary Schools. Young people have the opportunity to select from a wide range of excellent quality, healthy foods at reasonable prices. The food on offer is tailored to meet the demands of young people in the school, including Vegetarian and Halal options.

At All Saints Secondary, Fuel Zone Choices currently include:

Breakfast
Each morning from 8.30am-8.50am the Fuel Zone is open for a breakfast service.

Lunch

  • Hot Bites: a selection of home cooked meals.
  • Subzone: freshly made subs with a choice of filling.
  • Bake ‘n’ Take: baked potatoes straight from the oven with a choice of filling.
  • Grab ‘n’ Go: beat the queue with this pre-ordered pre-packed lunch.

 

For an all inclusive price of £1.90 pupils can select a main item, yoghurt, milk or water and fill up on homemade soup, bread, fruit and vegetables.

Fuel Zone Choices also enables pupils to become part of the Fuel Zone Points Rewards Scheme. Once registered, pupils collect points from their Fuel Zone purchases. Rewards include, Ipods, HMV vouchers and cinema tickets. For more information log on to:  www.fuelzone.co.uk

Children of parents receiving income support are entitled to a free midday meal. Information and application forms for free school meals may be obtained from school and from Glasgow City Council Education offices.

A number of pupils bring their own packed lunches for eating in the Fuel Zone. Chilled water is available in the Crush Hall area.
