Out of School Learning Activities - Music
- Practise your instrument.
- Revise your concepts from your home study booklet.
- Listen to a piece of music on the TV or radio. Find out the title and artist and name the style of music.
- Listen to a piece of music used in a TV show or film, describe the mood of the piece and write down the type of instruments that you heard playing.
- Revise the notes of the treble clef.
- Bring in a piece of music that you enjoy (on CD or MP3). Be ready to talk about it to a small group.
- Do an exercise from your Literacy Workbook.
- Make up a short phrase of melody. Write it down if you can. Hum or sing it to your teacher if you can’t!
- Listen to a type of music that is new to you. (Try a different radio station to the one you normally listen to) Tell your friends in class what you thought of it.
